I'm majoring in computer science, but I'm not sure what I want to do yet.

That's okay, I understand. I live close to Aegis as well, however we've never actually met in person. We might one day if he agrees to it.
Why talk about TO when we could battle each other (while we're drunk)?

I say in a couple of years we all go down to Mexico and get drunk and talk about TO:tKoL ;D Guys guys guys! I live on the border! The largest Mexican border city is ten minutes away! Juarez bars are notorious for not checking ID's (I've heard kids as young as 13 go there). Of course, you guerros might get jumped on the way back...

Well hopefully I'll make it into VT so we'll most likely meet up in Blacksburg one day.
Do you go to any of the hokies football games? I went to my first one this year (vt vs unc ... vt won 30-3) and it was great.
I hear CS is really hard, but I'm thinkin that will be what I major in.
I'm a junior btw, so i've still got my senior year to go. You're a freshman at tech this year, right?

Yeah.......... CS is pretty fucking hard. It was ok last term -- an "introductory" course to programming (though it really didn't seem so introductory after the first month with the crazy assignments). This term, however................... is another story. It's basically a course on discrete math. I think I spend more time on CS than any other course this term. We get a brutal assignment weekly. Worst of all, each only counts for a little over 1%, yet it takes hours to do (and figure out). The labs for this course are pretty bad too. As annoying as it all sounds, I still like CS for some disgusting reason. But really, I'm starting to miss programming and I'm only 1/3 of the way through the course.

This is only my first year and I've only taken one programming course so far. I heard that you don't do too much programming in the higher level courses. I know I have another programming course next year though (it's a continuation of the course I took last term). And yes, taking a course on Java in high school is really helpful, or at least it was for me. I took a programming course in gr 12 and I already learned half the stuff we did last term. The first course you take in CS is usually programming since it introduces you to a lot of the concepts for the later courses.

(this post was to landon) I am currently a sophmore (rising junior) and have been to all the football games in the last two years. CS is really hard...a bunch of my friends are in it. Good luck getting in when you apply next year.

Make money, hopefully. I honestly don't know what I even enjoy right now. I've been told to go into economics since maths is my strong point, and I'll ride that until I get bored I guess.
