Let's just say things turned out unexpected. Today I went to a Microcenter to buy a case. Originally I was just going to buy a mid-tower $30 with just a system fan which is part of the power connector. Well, My dad insisted I get a much better case and he ended up buying me a $160 SERVER case! The thing is a monster. It's 21 inches high and it weighs 40 pounds! The good thing about it is that it's capable of holding a server mobo with dual processors and have up to 6 gigs of ram but, since I already bought a mobo, that doesn't really benefit me. It did come with a 430 watt power supply unit and 2 case fans plus 2 more fan slots. Also, it has room for a 2nd harddrive, up to 6 cd drives/ external hd ports. It's monstrous. I like how it's easy to remove the HD holder inside the case, makes installing a tad less tedious. Another cool thing about it is that it comes with a key so you can lock your comp to keep snoopers from even turning the thing on

All I ever get is second hand "refurbished" junk that breaks every other day. Not much customization you can do with outdated parts. And Kamon, yes. Exactly. ;D

Yay I got my custom PC to work! It's awesome and it doesn't make too much noise. Now I think I'm finally prepared to be able to play next-gen games like Half Life 2 and Doom3

Why would anyone have six optical drives? You find a good use for all of those and I will give you a trophy. Sweet, Sektor. Although it may seem overkill, you got a free case and PS out of it, so it's all good. Hey Magicman, you should be artistic and build your PC into a end table. For example, beneath the table top, screw the motherboard in. Then place a mounting bracket on each leg of the table and put your hard drives there. Then you can place a flat panel monitor and keyboard/mouse on top of the table. Now THAT'S an alternative case! Now I'm thinking... I might have to try this myself.

My only concern about mounting the MB under a table is holding the PCI and AGP cards in place. Normally, you screw the brackets into the case, but since there is no case, the cards will not be tightly secured. And obviously, I don't want to use anything permanent like glue.

I just got XP installed and now my comp runs so damn smooth. With ME I could see a lag time whenever I accessed my harddrive because its speed is 5200 (not the standard 7200) rpm but with XP there isn't any at all. My comp runs perfectly now. I just love it.

Now take that WinME disc and BURN it. It's not even worthy enough to be a coaster =/
