That's right, Doom 3 is complete! It has been code released and is ready for manufacturing. The game is slated to come out August 3rd. I wonder if the game will live up to the series' reputation

IT'S ABOUT FREAKIN' TIME. As much as a DOOM fan I am, I will wait for reviews before I buy this game. I just don't have a good feeling about this game anymore. Same with Half-Life 2. Maybe because the release dates have been so foggy?

I've had it preordered for God-knows how long, on Xbox and PC.

Why do ya'll even bother with pre-orders? You get no benefits by doing it except for rare occasions. I always get good deals the week games come out at bestbuy and circuit city. Sometimes they give freebees too! Plus you have to put $5-10 down like 3-12 months in advance. Might as well wait.
Regardless I wonder what the specs are going to be for half-life 2 and doom 3

I saw a gameplay movie of Doom 3 yesterday (first one I've ever seen) and the game looks freaky as hell. The graphics are just a little bit lower than that of Half-Life 2's. I wonder what the specs will be

Multiplayer deathmatch is only limited to four people, however. But it seems that they will fix it in a patch top allow for at least eight people to deathmatch.

There is a revamped version of the original doom with full online capabilites (4 people). I watched my friend play for 15 min last night. Someone redid the graphics for the plasma rifle and a few other things like bullets hitting walls with the chaingun. Anyway it looked kinda neat.

Which connector? IDE or DC? I wish to know because I feel like a deathmatch.

Playing any of those DOOM variants with mouselook makes killing Cyberdemons ridiculously easy. Now your rockets always land squarely in the middle. This allows you to apply the theory that only 20 rockets are technically needed to kill a Cyberdemon. Without mouse aim, it's realistically more like 40 rockets.

Cyds are ridiculously easy anyway, unless it's a confined space and/or there's two.
