Awards may prevent spamming, but having multiple ranks wouldn't. People would spam just to get a rank (look at MonkPunk, for example, the stupid s**t). Well, people like Monkpunk are rather stupid at first, he doesn't know anything about forums so he asks weird questions. But people who know about it, should at least tell him, and warn him (like you and OldSchool). |

A mod should move this topic to "Site Discussion".
And awards would be cool, but I don't know if the admins can implement them. Otherwise, people could be giving themselves their own awards, and who has the time to stop them?

We just need a responsible mod, and SNK comes online every day. So he can take away the rewards from the stealers. |

The awards system would have to be integrated into the forums so people just can't add "Sokar's Buddy", etc. award to their signature. Also, people might try to suck up to get awards or do things unnatural to a forum atmosphere. Remember Crono's Respect List and the uproar it caused? Yeah... |

Ok I have some really cool pics of the emblems in TKOL that could be used for awards. But why would I give an award out? Also I can always add classes so maybe we should have a poll or topic on what people would like as 1000+ classes. AND I AM NOT CHANGING WHAT IS ALREADY THERE. That is just dumb.

There are some people who are kind to newbies and stuff (example-Zynx) he can get a dragonscale emblem or something. then there are people who are very helpful (example-SNK) he can get a (whatever) emblem. any sort of kindness and helpfilness gives you an emblem. No-spamming, no bard words, no flaming, e.t.c. Then you couyld give a reward to someone for helping in site work, like making FAQs and stuff. Discovering odd and amazing things in the game, helping you out with some info on items,e.t.c. There are a lot of other reasons to. I think you get my point! |

Why should you be rewarded for doing something that is expected of you (ie:being helpful, kind to newbies,etc.)? We have around 269 members, from which only 34 or so come daily. Getting new members is always important since, some of them may last long. Sorry, Tony it is not a dumbf**k idea, one day when you get tired of daily posting, you will think of this as a good idea. I'm quite aware that many people spam, to the newbies and are rude. |

I don't mean to bash you because you are a fellow TSE member. However, I think emblems would be nice if the Admin wouldn't mind putting forth the time to perform such a tedious task. I have a feeling the admin might find your idea unreasonable. Secondly, more posters would be nice only if we could ensure that they would remain dedicated. Otherwise, many just join and do... nothing. We don't need that. I wish emblems would provide incentive for people to remain dedicated, but I'm not sure.... |
