I just got my SAT back, and I got a 1960 (no, I'm not a hippie) out of 2400 (a 1310 on the old test). I got a 8/12 on the essay (75%), but it was a pretty hard topic to write on (majority rule...I'll majority rule your face!)
The thing is, since I'm in the top 10% of my class (3.7% to be exact) I'm guaranteed admission to any state university in Texas. I guess I'm a little let down at the essay score, but I improved my score (on the old test conversion) by 60 points! Maybe I'll amount to something in society now...

Awesome 1310 is remarkably good (I took the old ones and got 1170). You should go to Texas A & M then I guess......that is one big school.

You hafta be a masochist or something... eh i was a little dissappointed with my scores i got a 9 on the essay but i should've done much better because we had actually written an essay that involved majority rule in english class!! math i want to do with 0 mistakes (1 mistake this time so close ) and the verbal/writing multiple choice sections i did ok but could've done better it doesn't really matter that its the week of APs because there's not really much actual studying to do for the SATs so... ah and i can't retake it in june (the only other option besides waiting until fall) because thats when i'm taking some more SAT II

That's pretty darn good. I didn't take the SAT, but I got a dead even 30 out of 36 on the ACT which was good enough to get me into UW-Madison.

Bah, I never even took those tests. I don't think they truly measure someones intelligence, apptitude and study abilities yes, but overall intelligence, no. I dropped out of HS (though I was on Honor Roll and had scholarship offers) and joined the Navy, got an average score on their entrance tests (didn't really care how well I did) and then kicked major ass in the Navy and now work as a Network Storage Systems Engineer making $25 an hour.
Not really bragging or trying to say don't do your best in school and tests, but I am saying not to let anyone tell you that you are less intelligent based from pre-formatted test.

According to my maths teacher, there is a statistical correlation between the size of your big toe and your intelligence.
I think that's a load of shit, along with IQ, but what do I know?? I have small toes
