Anyone buying into these things? I already have several 100 DVD's that i've bought over the years, and those only cost like $10 - $20 each. Now they got the "HD DVD's" that cost at least $35 - $40 each. I dont think its worth spending double on a DVD just cause its in HD, I could get "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" and "Shaun of the Dead" for the same price as a HD "Million Dollar Baby". But hey, who am I to judge.
Your thoughts?

Total waste of money. They are trying to sucker people into spending more money for a better picture. Also I don't have an HD TV to even play them. I think the market is very limited and the DVDs are ridiculously priced when standard DVD is already good.

I guess this will be the next "Laser Disc" fad then, cause I dont see this thing taking off. Like KoL said, not everyone has a HD tv, hell, I only know 2 people who own a HD tv, and one of them isnt me.

I find it ironic that sony delayed Blue-ray.....makes me think they will release it alongside the PS3 making people buy PS3 for 500-600 instead of an overpriced blue-ray DVD player at around 300.

I've read the book, but haven't seen the movie. How is it compared to the book?

I bought it! Yes!!!
Jaggy, it's different, but good. They leave out a lot of the good parts, but the parts you do get to see don't dissapoint.
