Diablo 2 Patch 1.10 has finally been released after 16 months of waiting. B.Net has been changed tremendously and the game has never been better.
Blizzard announced today that the upcoming Warcraft 3 Patch 1.13 will include many highly wanted features to War3, here's the full announcment ( I put the really big additions in bold):
"The patch will include many significant additions, including Acts II and III of the Orc Campaign, several new World Editor features, updates to many of the maps, and numerous balance adjustments. We expect it to be released in the next few weeks. Prior to the patch’s release, we will also be changing the lineup of maps currently available for ladder play.
In addition to the patch, we will also be releasing the art tools used for Warcraft III. These tools will allow advanced users to create and implement new art in the game, adding an unprecedented level of customization. "

Couldn't of been worse timing. After about 500 hrs of each I'm officially over both of those games.

Sounds good sektor, but the only one of those I ever played a lot was war3, and even that only barely recently with school and everything...
The map editor was already pretty good IMO... and the custom maps SUCKED.... so... I'm not sure if improving the editor will actually improve the custom maps, because it's just too good for the map makers... it overwhelms them lol. I dunno, I always felt that a lot of SC custom maps are still better than just about all of the war3 custom maps out now, even though the SC editor wasn't as good....

The War3 editor is very confusing and hard for those who have never programmed before. I like the Starcraft Editor's concept a lot better. It's really cool how you can DRAW stuff into the game! I cant wait to play around with it. The first thing I plan to do is a rurouni kenshin game, it should be cool

I've never been especially skilled at mapmaking myself... great tester though ;D . I might take up war3 again in a few months after people have been given time to toy around with the new editor... see if some good things crop up.

War3 custom games suck.... they are too oriented around heroes. For instance, golems in sc was my favorite custom and marine special force was second, war3 had plenty of golems games but none of them had the greatness of SC. All of them had heroes in them, they're great and all but I don't think golems was really meant to have heroes... I've only played one good one, it was the first i played on war3 and it was called: Firestorm Guy's Golem Madness. it was awesome like sc's. It had the info on what combos made what golems, unlike the rest where you had to just plain out guess.
