XIAO XIAO: www.xiaoxiaomovie.comStuff there takes a while to load but it's worth it. Maybe someone could find a faster link... EDIT: here's a newgrounds link: www.newgrounds.com/collections/xiao.htmllol, when I last saw these it was still on #4 or something.

I'm trying to make a stick figure movie like the Xiao Xiao (pronounced Shao Shao) series. It's tough, that frame-by-frame editting is ridiculous.

xiao xiao is amazing, especially that one when the hero goes into the building and beats up all the guys in there. i believe he's also made a "virtual cop" style first person shooter.

That 2 part episode one was so sweet. But it hasn't been finished yet, has it? I think a 3rd one is coming out.

[glow=DarkGreen,2,300]Xiao Xiao is great to watch, but after you have seen each one once, they seem to not have the same "charm" to them as they had the first time. But I guess it is like that for most things.[/glow]

Xiao Xiao really fascinates me... The animation is so smooth for each stick figure that I conclude that the whole movie is done frame-by-frame. Not by moving sticks, but by redrawing the characters over and over. This is the only way it could've been done because the animation is so smooth. I see why it takes so long to make one now

That it was drawn frame-by-frame and looked so fluid.

i dunno about redrawing every single scene each time you move up a frame. i think that all he did was give each character a number of joints, and thus the stick figure can act almost as real. if you redraw frame by frame then it is going to be a pain in the arse.

No way, it would take a lot less work if you had the artistic ability to manually manipulate motion, which he apparently does.
