Does anyone know a good program for getting rid of spyware or some method of getting rid of it? I've already tried using Spybot. It removed a lot of problems that it found, but there's still these stupid pop ups when I use IE. Sometimes, it just pops up and closes by itself. But sometimes, it pops up as something not-so-appropriate. Anyway, it just pisses me off and I really want to remove that crap.
EDIT: Oops. I forgot to mention that I tried using that Hijackthis thing too. I'm supposed to post my log on a forum and have an expert help me with what to remove, but NO ONE has replied. :/ How helpful.

You can check out SpywareGuard here. SpywareGuard acts like a virus scanner, but for spyware! It's really sweat because it tells you if you have spyware and cleans it up just like norton or any other anti-virus software.
If you want, you can also check out SpywareBlaster. Blaster doesn't scan and clean spyware - it prevents it from being installed. You can download it here
EDIT: Oh, and also, try deleting your temporary internet files. They sometimes carry spyware.
It's also kind of odd that the people of hijack this never responded to you..

The "big 3" that I normally see suggested are:
Spybot S&D, which you've already tried.
Hijack this, which you've also already tried.
and Ad-aware, which is supposed to be very good at taking out pop-ups.
I'll vouch for their safety too, as I know people who use them, and I even use one or two. If all else fails you could try getting something like google's pop-up blocker.

Yeah, that's what I did. I posted at the other forum too, but again, no one replied. I even bumped my threads like twice. Oh well... Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I tried Ad Aware too before. I don't really remember anything about it, but it probably wasn't that useful since I have it uninstalled on my computer. I guess I'll try SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster when I get home (I'm at school). I also found this other spyware program... forgot what it's called.. Bazooka or something. It detects any spyware or trojans you have on your computer and then you go to their site for each problem to see how to remove it. Well, it's detected a lot of things that Spybot didn't, so..

I have all three and use them for different reasons. I recommend getting ad-aware and hijack this for EMERGENCIES. That thing is really really powerful and you need to be careful. When my bro got a virus that gave us a million ads, hijack this got rid of the REALLY hard ones to remove with ad-aware for backup.

Oh, and about Spybot, becareful what you delete. Spybot tends to pick up registry keys of different programs and claims them as spyware, although sometimes they are essential to run the game/program it belongs to. I had to re-install FF7 for PC because spybot deleted the registry key
