Anyone know of a good, user-friendly and free DVD burner that burns MPEGs and AVI files?

You mean software? I can give you one that you might be able to download somewhere for free... Xilisoft AVI to DVD converter and Xilisoft DVD to DIVX Converter. Nero will also burn to MPEG from AVI but I'm not sure about the other way around.

Yes, software. I'll try Xilisoft then. I have some programs that came with my laptop but when I pick the AVI/MPEG file that I want to burn it will invert and turn the picture upside down.
EDIT: Works great, thanks for the suggestion!

I'm going to bring this up again because there's something that's been bugging me. Every time I try and burn something with an output aspect ratio of 4:3 I have to use Letterbox - which are the black horizontal stripes that run across the top and bottom of the screen. Normally I would NOT have a problem with them, but these guys take up at least 45% of the screen. Is there some other software that doesn't use letterbox?
