Tales Of Phantasia is different to most RPGs due to its Linear Motion Battle system:  All the fighting is done in realtime - and you control Cless, who can move freely across the screen, attack, jump, defend and even combo with specials. ( Kinda like RPG Street Fighter  ) Behind you is your team of 3 who are CPU controlled ( although PSX vers allowed them to be human controlled with an item ), they move following you and attacking with whatever tactics you set them. (You can also choose which spells to be used, etc) The battles are unique and pretty fun, but it could do with another physical fighter helping (Suzu) , rather than longrange backup. Other than that the games pretty long (round 40-50 hours), leveling is no probs, graphics and music are very good, and the story actually has some depth & interest.  |

Sounds pretty sweet. If it comes out here I think ill go and pcik it up, after I buy the ten other games on my list right now....

Klarth is at the end, & Chester is the guy behind Cless When they ported the game over to PSX, they changed the sprites to resemble their character portraits and artwork, so the GBA version looks to be the more up to date port. |
