GBASP sells 1.1 million

I just hear that Nintendo has sold 1.1 million GBASP in 10 weeks. They said it was 1 handheld every 10 mins. That is nuts! I am impressed by those numbers but I still won't buy one . Well I am off to busch gardens for the day(theme park). Just post your thoughts on this achievement.

Well, Sokar, its not just the backlight.The SP looks cooler, is more compact, has a backlight, and is more energy efficent.

Actually, the backlight isn't the only thing I would buy it for. I like the rechargable batteries and its size too.

I dont understand why some of you think that the SP is the same as a GBA when in fact its WAY better! Its like the GBA is a 20 inch TV screen and the SP is a 52 inch, yeah, the 52 is a little more expensive, but a shit load better.

Umm it has little to do with it costing more than a GBA. It's because most of us own a GBA already, and buying an SP isn't just another $20-30, it's another $100. Let's see, $0, vs $100, I'll spend my Franklin elsewhere. Well I'd love some other company to take out nintendo's monopoly, but i don't see that coming

Because there was so much demand from gamers and GBA OWNERS to have a back light so they satified their need by releasing the GBASP, its not some stradegy to earn more money, but its mostly at the request of gamers, like myself, who wanted a back light.

And Olan, a $100 isnt that much money when you think about it, its not really a waste either if you plan on using your GBASP a lot. And if you dont want to spend the full $100, trade in your GBA, you should get $30 easily. Or if you want to wait, get it for Christmas or your b-day or something.

Im just saying its worth the money.

Yea, i couldn't agree more. Didn't someone there notice the screen is near impossible to see unless your under a powerful lightbulb? I mean 1st generation GBA games like castlevania were almost unplayable on the road. Or they could've just made it a new system.

Well I don't really use it that much, so I'm not getting it, and i already have accessories for my GBA. I know 100 isn't that much, but I'm just not supporting them for conning us into buying another system. And i never use my gba en route since it's semi-dangerous to play gba while your driving. So if i mostly play it at home, i'll just utilise my lovely 100 watt lamp, and get a nice tan at the same time as i play ;D

Now you can't go back to a 56k (GBA). Just like Oldschool, said, it's much better. Before I hated playing my GBA and taking it places, but now, it feels like Heaven.

Not only is the backlight 5,000,000 times better, but recharging saves you a lot of money. Oh and.... let's not forget, it looks damn sexy in platinum.

Didn't see your post, so I'll add some more. Well i have enough batteries to keep that thing running clear into the 22nd century, so power aint a prob. Basically $100 for a nicer looking Backlit GBA. = nothx

Yeah I think it is 10 sec. I just heard it on techtv. Well busch gardens was fun and alpingueist is crazy to ride. I didn't like it.

i can imagine that this would happen, i just played my friends SP and it was pretty awsome (i like the light) the sound is pretty good too
