All I would get AW2 for is the multiplayer, but I don't feel like playing through the single player just so I can unlock shit. No offense to some hard-core fans here, but I thought AW1 single player was ultra lame, because the computer was rigged with superior numbers yet it was still stupid. And I don't like these rumors of one-shot-chance at levels and if you mess up, you have to restart. If I do get AW2, I would just unlock everything via Gameshark or whatever and just play VS.
Ok, go ahead and yell at me.

Campaign mode's the reason I play AW. I never touch the VS mode ones. But then everyone's saying how AW2 is ultra hard and I already suck at strategy games..

Sokar...the point of AW is that its supposed to be challenging, its like a REALLY advanced version of chess. RTS dont compare in thought or difficulty that AW has, and never will. I love C&C, but any retard with one eye can beat a RTS game in no time.

...but any retard with one eye can beat a RTS game in no time. You obviously haven't played Caesar III, Homeworld, or Myth II (all very challenging RT strategy games). Anyway, I understand that Advance Wars is "challenging," but not in a good way. Having enemy units camping in forests in fog of war while you move along getting pounded results in a lot cheap kills by the computer; and if those units weren't there, then the game would be screwed because the computer AI wouldn't know what to do otherwise. Maybe my expectations for the GBA are too high, but I prefer VS. mode (even tho the computer AI still sucks, but at least the game isn't super-rigged in their favor). I'm even more into VS. now that I have a nearby friend who just bought AW1 (for $15).

We'll, if they made the rest of the game real easy, then whats the point of even including a campaign mode if its just "haha! i just beat the game and all i built was 3 Md tanks and took out the base!" Its supposed to be challenging. It trains you on how to best play the game. If you use your head and think a little, the missions arent all that hard.

I think AW is a great game, but I'm still reluctant to buy the second one.

Crono- I'm still on Orange Star missions and I'm choosing from the 3 missions on which to do first. I'm gonna start playing it now.

Heh, Im starting the Green Earth missions ;D Its summer and I dont have much else to do. Anyways, Orange Star missions are boring; they're like the Field Training of AW1 basically. Blue Moon missions are better. Some are easy, some are some-what hard. Yellow Comet missions are where the game starts to get challenging and a whole lot more fun. I enjoyed the Yellow Comet missions a lot. Green Earth missions are supposed to be very hard though.
Sokar, the AI is so much better in this game. It:
*Doesnt go for APC bait anymore.
*Doesnt create mass amounts of Landers that it doesnt use
*Builds better blockades/defenses
*Will pick he units it attacks much better. For example: You have 5 HP Tank and 3 HP Medium Tank; enemy has 7 HP Tank and Artillery. It will attack the Medium Tank with the Artillery and the Tank with its Tank. Before it would of attacked the Tank with the Artillery because it had more HP and left the Tank to attack the Medium Tank.
*It will pick apart units wisely. For example: You have 10 HP Medium Tank and 10 HP Infantry; enemy has Rockets, 7 HP Medium Tank, 2 HP Tank, and 6 HP Medium Tank. It would attack your Medium Tank with Rockets, then the 7 HP Medium Tank. Now your Medium Tank is at 1 HP. Before, it would attack it with the 6 HP Medium Tank and let the weak Tank attack the Infantry. Now it attacks the weakened Medium Tank with its weak Tank because it knows it can kill it with the Tank and give the Infantry more damage with the Meidum Tank.
*It will respond to what you build. For example: You build 4 Bombers over the course of 3 turns. The AI will start building Anti-air, Missiles, Fighters, etc.
*Will attack Infantry/Mechs capturing any type of property above all else. It wont ignore you when you capture the HQ anymore
*Will use CO Powers as soon as it gets it or next turn, whicever would be better.
The only fault of the AI Ive noticed is that it wont manage units in chokepoints very well. Besides that, it seems near flawless.

Sounds promising as far as AI goes. How are the single player campaigns set up? What type of missions do they throw at you?

I've played 2 FOW as of Tanks! in the Blue Moon Campaign. Each level has a difficulty. Some missions you have to win within a certain amount of days.

Some of you have to last a certain amount of days, some you have to win in a certain amount of days, some you have to destroy cannons(new Black Hole units; basically like inidirect units that cant move but have huge ranges), andsome you have to stop some sort of super weapon from going off in various ways. This is to go along with your normal missions. Most arent normal now though. Much better and varied missions I think.
Plus, although you probably knew, you play as all 4 countries. And on some missions you can pick which CO/CO's you use, including some team ones where you can use a CO from another country (ex: Use Max and Grit in a Blue Moon mission.)
