I had GOlden Sun before, returned it, and now I might buy it again. What the hell is wrong with me?? I did the same thing with advance wars, although I did buy it again. Or maybe, since Im getting a new laptop, I'll just buy games for it instead.

Cheap, good games ($30 and less):
Homeworld Dungeon Siege Myst 3 Exile Age of Empires 2 Caesar 3 SWAT 3: Elite Edition or Gold Edition (I forget which one) The Thief Collection Mafia Medieval: Total War
Good, but not so cheap, games ($50 or so):
Age of Mythology The Sims Deluxe Edition Rise of Nations Vietcong Syberia
My personal picks (if you obviously don't already have them):
For cheap games, get Homeworld, Caesar 3 or Myst 3 Exile. However, all of those games are extremely challenging/difficult, so if you are looking for something easier, try Mafia or Dungeon Siege (though not as good as the others).
For a not-so-cheap game, I would definately go with The Sims: Deluxe Edition, hands down, period, end of story. The game is ultra addicting and has amazing longevity value.

Are there any offline games for the P.C. that are kind of stragety/action? I think Dungeon Siege is knid of like this, although I never played it.

Dungeon Siege is meant to be played Single Player, as well as Caesar 3 and Homeworld (altho multiplayer Homeworld still rocks).

Ok, I just got back from the trip. I got the laptop before I went, but didn't get a decent game until I got there. I got Warcraft III and it is sweet!!! The graphics are good for a RTS game.
Any other suggestions for P.C. games?
Oh, and also, is the Sims: Deluxe Edition the first and regular one? I have the first one and the Livin' Large expansion.

Oh, and also, is the Sims:Deluxe Edition the first and regular one? I have the first one and the Livin' Large expansion. Then you have Deluxe Edition. DE is simply the original Sims with Living Large and a couple of other (forgettable) features.
