I know there have been alot of these threads, but Im going on a 20 hour train ride to New York soon, and was wondering which GBA games you would recomend. I have already: GBA F-Zero Super Monkey Ball Jr. Rainbow 6: Rogue Spear Megaman Zero Tactics Ogre Kirby: Nightmare... Advance Wars Yoshi's Island Ecks VS. Sever Phantasy Star Collection Lego Bionicle Zelda: 4 Swords Army Men Advance Mech Platoon Bomberman Tournament Gameshark
GBC & GB Kirby's Pinball Land Pacman: Color Edition Zelda: Ages Zelda: Seasons GTA 2 Mario Tennis Warlocked Bomberman Max: Red Zelda: Links Awakening DX Gameboy Camera Gameshark
I was thinking of getting Golden Sun. Whats your advice?

I would suggest Golden Sun. Just make sure that you get the first one.

You listed Advance Wars twice...? Do you mean 1 and 2? Golden Sun will probably last you through that train ride, although it only takes around 20 hours to beat. But I would recommend getting one of the Castlevanias instead. I think Aria of Sorrow is the best GBA one.

Oh, and its actually a twenty hour ride.(10 there and 10 back)

Ok, if you only have AW, then I would also recommend AW2.

I would recommend AW2. Golden Sun is good also though. Ive never played any of the Castlevania games, but Ive heard they are good also.

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon would be the best pick for a Castlevania game, IMO. Personally, I was disappointed by Ecks vs. Sever (DOOM is of much better quality), but if you liked it, then I would strongly recommend checking out the second one for the GBA. It's drastically better. Altho it's titled "Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever," do not be discouraged by the shitty movie of the same name--the game is totally idnependent (and at the end of the day, far better than the movie ). I don't know about Advance Wars 2, yet. Some people swear by it, use your own judgement. I just don't the like the idea of only 1 additonal unit but like 9 new CO's. BTW, how is Mech Platoon? Every where I look, it's sold out. Are they making a sequel or second Mech Platoon? If so, I'll just wait for that one to come out.

I'm going to a place in New York called Beacon, from Pittsburgh, Pennyslvania. Mech Platoon is pretty cool, lots and lots of units, and it has a few neat qualities. I don't know about a sequel. Warlocked is a cool game. And there is a new FPS coming out for GBA called Ice9. I'll check that out too. Ok, so its either: Castlvania: Which ever is the best one (tell me) Golden Sun: The first one Advance Wars 2 Or, none at all. It depends. I want to save my $$$ for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic on X-Box, and I dont even have that much money anyway. And excuse my stupidity, but what does IMO mean?

IMO = In My Opinion It's ok, it took me a long time to figure out what ROFL meant. For Castlevania, I would recommend Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, because I heard it was generally better than Harmony of Dissonance, but longer and more replayable than Aria of Sorrow. I wouldn't get Golden Sun. I bought it, grew bored of it, and then sold it. It's just not a conventional RPG, and I don't mean that in a good way. It's different, but not innovative or unique--that makes so sense whatsoever, but I don't know how else to put it. For example, the Battle System is very dry and monotonous--it feels like took the Final Fantasy system and stripped it down. Psynergy and Djinn makes many battles just far too easy as well (your PP, esentially analogous to MP, regenerates ). The whole system of equipping Djinn to grant certain magical powers (and even stats) is far more complicated and nonsensical than FF3's esper system. Also, the plot is nothing spectacular, and the way that inventorying is done is very awkward. Then again, I am not very RPG adept, but perhaps that only reinforces my opinions about Golden Sun being far too mediocre of a game.

I would suggest Castlevania: CotM but it's a very dark game and unless you have a backlight or SP you probably would have trouble seeing the screen. I've only played one of the other GBA Castlevania's and that wsa HoD. You should stay away from that one, it's very easy and you would beat it on the trip there leaving you with nothing to play on the way back. Golden Sun is about a 25 hour game. It's easy to see the screen so you wouldn't need a light on it. I haven't played AWII yet so I can not suggest it unless the first one was one of your favorite games of all time. Of all those I think you should get Golden Sun for the trip and sometime later you should get CotM. And IMO means in my opinion.

Castlvania: Which ever is the best one (tell me) I think Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is the best. The graphics and music are good and it's funner and more replayable than the others IMO, even though it's relatively short. And it's more like SotN than CotM.

Well, I recommend getting either Circle of the Moon or Aria of Sorrow. CotM is more replayable (5 different modes!), but AoS has better graphics and a better story. They are both equally fun IMO. Just don't get HoD. Too short, too easy, the story sucks, the magic system sucks, the extra modes suck (even Maxim...), and the game just overall sucks...

I actually liked the unlockables in AoS better than CotM. The four modes in CotM are like, all the same except for different stats and that one where you start with all the DSS cards.

AoS has pretty good replay with the different modes which makes it my favorite gba castlevania. Playing as Julius is cool but I didn't play long. Do you still level up when playing as Julius?
