I traded in my old DS and a bunch of games at Gamestop for a preorder on a Lite, I think grand total was over 100$ since they gave me a bonus 10% on all trade in values since I was reserving a Lite.
It is a lot nice than the old one and it looks a lot cooler and less fat. I also appreciate the better battery life and brightness during my many late-night gaming sessions.

I've decided to wait until they release other colors such as Jet Black. In the meantime I'm trying to sell my DS, SM64DS and the carrying case.

Well I'm advertising it on a local channel for $100 (CDN). I will probably end up ordering the Black DS Lite, since I've already grown impatient.

I think I'm getting a DS lite in a couple days. The problem is, I've been looking and can't find Trauma Center, Lost in Blue, or Phoenix Wright anywhere.
Man, I wanted those games before they came out over here =/

Not to be negative but i think the ds lite is just a way to attract more buyers who like better looks and also those that got to have every system, i also find it annoying that someprograms like the internet browser are sold separatly for the lite and regular.

You are right that it is just an updated version of the normal DS with a smaller body and brighter screen. Think of it like the Gameboy Advance SP. I actually sold my advance and got an SP because it was way more portable and brighter. However the differences between the DS and Lite did not make it worthwhile enough to sell my regular DS and get a lite for an additional $40.

I sold my old DS and bought the new one just because I liked the design. But that's just me - the original DS had nothing wrong with it.
@ KoL - Do you think it'd be worth to trade in Luminous Arc for Zelda? I don't know if you've played LA yet so if anyone else (Jaggy , Oldy, etc) wants to give me some advice, I'd appreciate it.

I had a regular DS, then I bought a DS lite. There wasn't much difference and I only bought it because my regular DS has a cracked top screen. I was really confused with the power button being on the side. I always think It's the volume and turn my game off. I can't find it now though...

Based on reviews and opinions, Zelda is a better game. Much higher review scores, presentation values, and well it's Zelda so it must be good right?

Also, to be honest, I was not impressed with LA's lack of classes. So I don't know at the moment - I'm undecided.

I've never played LA or whatever it is, but I know I played Zelda, so I know you wont be dissapointed. They should make Orcarina of time for the DS, I know they could if they wanted to because there is enough keys to, or if there wasn't you could use the touch pad, but I highly doubt they will even if it would be worthwhile (profit wise). And it would be nice to have DK 64 on it but it stinks that Microsoft converted (bought) rareware into Rare(period) so now they can only make cheesy games with the characters in them.

I just started playing Luminous Arc (4 hours in). I will give you the quick rundown. The gameplay is just like TKOL...very basic and simplified. No class changing but they do get new spells/skills and abilities as they level up. I have an issue with the camera not being able to rotate. It has caused me to be unable to target 1 small enemy on the level I just played. Not a huge deal but annoying. The game is pretty easy except you have to be careful in the beginning of the game because your characters are fragile. I pretty much pwn everyone right now since my levels are steady. The intermission think is neat because you get good items from giving the right answers (there is an FAQ on it). The story is steadily making sense and pretty interesting. It is a solid, yet mediocre game. This a basic no real frills turn-based strategy game. It is definitely fun, enjoyable, and far from frustrating.
