I got this computer back in 2002 I believe. Its a VPR Matrix and its been good to me this whole time. Until around a few weeks ago, it started running so fucking slow that I had no choice but to use my System Restore disk and start from scratch. Everything is good right?
Thats what I thought, till today its doing the same old shit. So I ran System Restore again. I can almost guarantee its gonna happen again.
Thing is, I use Norton Systemworks, and Norton Firewall, and Spybot Search and Destroy. You'd think with me constantly filtering out all of those stupid worms, virus's and spyware that my comp would be running smooth, but it just dosent seem to be cutting it.
So im just curious as to what Virus Protection/Firewall/Spyware programs you guys use to keep you computers running smooth. I'd greatly appreciate it.

I think your face is ridiculous! Hahaha~
Okay, in all seriousness, I use Panda Titanium for antivirus and firewall, Spybot and Ad-aware for malware, my router as a hardware firewall, I defrag once a week, reformat once every other month, and regularly clean up my harddrive.
TuneUp Utilities is also a really good tool. I'd run it if I were you.

I've heard good things about Panda; I suggest you check them out.

For virus protection, I use Norton 2005. And for spyware, I use Spybot and Bazooka. Bazooka is nice since it gives you instructions on how to manually remove any spyware you have, especially for ones that couldn't be removed with Spybot. It might also detect things that Spybot didn't..
Oh and by the way, which browser do you use?

windows system restore is terrible.......
edit: so is norton
and spybot is ok but not for all things
thus explaining why you're still having problems =\
and i've heard some bad things about panda too (worse than norton i believe) (panda sucks -_-) (fuck pc world -_-) (you hear good things about norton too right)
what i would recommend for antivirus is maybe like kaspersky, free-av, zone alarm i guess, ad-aware, spyware blaster, blah blah other stuff
you could use something like hijackthis if you know what you're doing but in that case you probably wouldn't be asking us huh
i barely using anything myself to keep things clean except common sense, occasional scans with spybot/adaware/etc., and looking into directories, processes, msconfig startups myself (and i have no problems, even if i use IE)

:PIf I didn't know any better, I'd say Ghosty was a consumer-advocate or something. Like Magicman said, you hear bad things about everything. Panda is still a good choice to go with.

Oh, I think Ghosty is misunderstanding. I would never pay for antivirus software...

Meh, Norton used to cause a lot of trouble with my computers, but it's much better now.

Thanks for the help!
Just wondering though, which of the programs that you listed are free? And if you could, could you list the urls to the sites? Again, i'd greatly apreciate it.
