Detroit is pretty much as ghetto as they come. You can tell when you reach the really bad area's when you see that everyhouse has bars on the window's and doors to keep people from breaking in. And when you go down there to "buy" you'll see guys chilling on there front porches with AK 47's and shit like that. Its crazy down there, and you gotta have a lot of balls walk around in that type of area... Damn, I've never heard of anything worse than the neighborhood you've just described.
Heh this thread went from posting up your picture to halloween to hobos and then to hookers and pimps

I don't want to hear your guys complaining about hobos. My town in "infested" with homeless people. And the ones on my side of the mountain are crazy! One lady walks around with a yucca (plant) stalk in a shoping basket, and wears a fur coat in summer. Another lady pretends she's on a walk way, and sings, yells and talks to the cars that pass by. She holds up a sign reading, "If you don't like me, chances are I don't like you!" How sad and stragne. Sometimes I just wish they would apply for a job, even if it was selling newspapers.

My friend had an idea that we could just buy all the Hobos AK-47s. That'd keep them occupied enough to stop stealing the pies off our windowsills. Still probly not a desireable solution.

I agree with that apply for a job statement. I live near D.C., and we get some serious nut cases. One lady pulled up to our house when my family was doing lawn work, and she had this 3 year old. She asked if she could live with us, cause we seemed like a nice family and she needed somebody to care for her. We asked her if she had tried asking the govt for help, she said she had, but they kept harassing her. We asked her what "harassing" meant, she said they wanted her to get a job. I felt bad, but that's really creepy. I live in a nice neighborhood. However, there are some neighborhoods nearby that remind me a lot of Oldy's account of Detroit. My old middle school's boundaries got changed, putting the two worst neighborhoods around in the same school. Two words: Gang Wars. According to friends who still go there, you have to dodge punches every once in a while. My friend's little sister came home with a black eye because she had a locker in between a hispanic guy and a black guy. The neighborhoods are very racially divided, and the gang wars are basically Hispanic VS. Black/White. It's scary.

Then there's this old lady who begs for money when she's actually rich and lives in an appartment.....this story got so serious it was on the news......they went to her appartment and asked for an interview but she splashed the camera with water.....scary.....[/glow]

The neighbourhood I live in is one of the cleanest areas around here. The east side (of Vancouver) is another story. Especially in the downtown area. So many weirdos hang around there. There's this old library and like 205353 druggies are there day and night and they just do drugs in front of the building, not even giving a damn that anyone who drives by can see them. And of course, the crime rates are getting worse. It's not uncommon to see houses with barred up windows (even ours is).

well the neighbourhood i live is every clean and around 10:00 there is no one on the streets which is a bit scary but better than ppl doing drugs. NOW if u wer to go to the park there r teenagers just sitting there with their gf and then their friends pull up with their sports car making loud noises....

Speaking of that, it's kind of sad. There is no "Lover's Lane" in our area. I think we may very well be one of the only counties without one. However, we do have the Strip, and cops are constantly patrolling it because the idea is to take a really blingbling car, drive it down as slow as you can, and a large amount of local teens are hanging around looking at the really nice rides.

Where I live, people turn "Goth" (or provide a hilarious time trying) for things as frivolous as "My parents won't buy me this years Mustang, they say I have to work and pay for a fourth of it". Thats actually some "goth" at my schools reason for um... veering off the path of the light.

oh yeah....well maybe u should visit west side of toronto...its the samething over and over....someone gets killed, raped, kidnapped....its horrible!! [glow=navy,2,300]Sorry to say, but that's bullshit. Yes Toronto maybe the city with the most violence... in Canada. But Canada is heaven compared to the states. Toronto would be considered "The best city to live" if it were in the states. There are ONLY 381 shootings a year in all of Canada, while there are 13,000 in the States in a year. Watch Bowling for Columbine (awsome documentary), and it will change you thoughts about how bad Toronto is.[/glow]

[glow=ruby,2,300]I have to agree with you Vapour127 but the point is it would take a lot of guts to walk in a dark alley in midnight, with hobos and clans/groups hangout and prey on their next victim.... And to stay on subject, if anyone wants to see my pic, then just say so and I might consider, lol [/glow]
