i dunno, but pen and paper style rpg's are just a little too... shall i say bland? with all the great video game rpg's out there, who still has the time and patience to roll the dice and create a character? a friend of mine used to play pen and paper dungeons and dragons, but even he got bored of it after about a month. the only thing i play that's even remotely similar to pen and paper rpg's is magic cards, and even that i don't do anymore.
however, i don't think that people who play this type of game is a pathetic loser stuck in their parent's basement. i mean, some people can view playing a great game like tactics ogre a pathetic waste of time, yet i believe most people on this board love the game. i don't play them, and i don't think people who play them are losers.

I wont lie, I played for about a month after I found a group that lives about 20 minutes from me. I had such an urge to play after I started to visit a site, which I still visit to this day.
To sum it all up, I quit after those 4 games....
I had NOOO idea that these people would actually talk like their characters and such. All I wanted to do was roll the dice, kill things, and level up so I could kill other things. No, after the 4th game they told me that it's not all about rolling the dice and killing things, it's about the roleplaying man, the love of the game, the love of the character...you must be Arowyn, you must feel his testi.....ok you all understand what I am trying to say....
FREAKS!!!!!
Never again will I play any form of P&P RPG

Mohrg You really shouldn't judge after playing with ne group. They're obviously playing at a differant depth than some such as myself. We basically do what you want to do. Roll dice, kill stuff, steal stuff, buy stuff, etc

Yeah, like Tim said, if you've ever seen the Dead Ale Wives' D&D skit, that's basically what my D&D sessions are like. We don't really *get into the game*, ya know? Our RPs are more hilarious than anything.

I hate D&D with a passion. Here here! I don't understand why people get into that game like Morg mentioned. If you guys watched I Love the '80s and you saw that one part about D&D, you would know what I mean. The "Leader" or whatever you call him said it's fun to mess with the new players because you can change the rules....um...yeah...just like it's fun when somebody looks at the cards in the packet in Clue and then guesses who/where/what on the first turn.....I sure love to play that way....
