Kaiji is supposedly pretty good. I think Clannad is a clamp series. Lately they haven't been the best but it should be pretty solid.

What's a clamp series? Is it boy meets girl kind of thing? I saw the first 2 episodes of Clannad, and it was boring at first but it has its funny parts and gets a bit more interesting. I'd say 7/10.
Can't wait to see Kaiji this friday.

Clamp is the studio that made card captor sakura, tsubasa chronicle, and a couple of other noteworthy series. Tsubasa Chronicle's main characters are all from shows made by Clamp.
Currently at my club I am watching this show called "Life of Agriculture." It's pretty wild as this kid sees mircro-organisms and they are these little cutsy things that jump around and stuff. It's also pretty entertaining.

Ah I see. Makes sense.
On another note, for those that are just starting to watch anime, here are some recommended ones to watch out for:
- Hellsing - Full Metal Alchemist - Gundam Seed ....I can't remember any other ones atm.

I've been hearing about an anime named Gantz that looks kind of cool. Has anyone seen it and have input on it?

It's about these two guys that get hit by a subway train and are transported to a room with other people. They are forced to fight alien-like beings around the area. It is a pretty violent show with some language thrown in. The show is a wild ride and gets really crazy toward the end. I recommend seeing it if you enjoy a little weird, violent, off the wall action and storyline.

Well, I like Kaiji. Awesome show. Plus it's auto win for having rock paper scissors in it.

My knowledge of anime is pretty narrow, but most years I end up at ACen, which is always a good time.

Wouldn't they be dubbed though? That's lame - maybe it's just me but I can't stand dubs. Also, I'm starting to watch Death Note and Monster. Speaking of Death Note, I got the actual book in my possession. Now to write down the names of people I hate. > Oh and Happy Bday TF.

I watched it dubbed as a kid and never really got to see it subbed. I agree that subs are the way to go but for $39 for the whole saga and then some it's a bit hard to be picky. Obviously if dubs annoy you (as they do me from time to time) then definitely hold off since that's what you get. Monster is a pretty wild and cool show. I saw the first 1/3 of it or so and thought it was pretty cool. I should go back and finish it one of these days. Please don't write my name in the book! I support KIRA I swear it!

I doubt they'd sell them here anyways...probably not the same offers. I am just starting with Monster and my friend spoiled the ending for me today. lol Is it Crispins or Crispens? LMAO j/k I wouldn't write your name or anyone else's name from here. I don't have grudges that go that deep. Which reminds me, there's a lot of media attention around Death Note. There's the Manga Murder in Belgium where body parts were found in a park with notes saying "Watashi wa Kira dess"; a Japanese mispelling of "I am Kira". And students who have brought Death Note replica notebooks at US schools have been suspended.

Do what replica books and suspensions? That's hilarious....wow I can't believe its causing real issues. I am Kira at a crime scene? that's pretty wild. Oh and the try the second spelling to make a accurate addition to your death note haha. Well since you told me about this sweet news article I will venture to google and check it out. Oh ps: Gundam 00 ended and was a great new show with season 2 in the foreseeable future. I started watching Code Geass at anime club and it's looking pretty good. Sucks your friend ruined the ending of monster...I still recommend watching it based on good remarks from peers.

Yea and the Belgium crime investigation still hasn't been solved. It's kind of creepy because the only thing they have to go on is that a Jogger said he had seen a person with blond hair laying down near where the body parts were found.
As for Monster, his excuse was that the ending was obvious. Although that may be somewhat true, I would've rather not known.
My anime club never started showing Gundam00, which is a shame but there's no reason I can't just watch it myself. Right now though, I am really addicted to Kaiji, and can't wait till more episodes are subbed.
