[glow=darkgreen,2,300]Ok, this weekend everyone was away for the weekend and we left the computer on and when we returned the color was set to 16 colors and, everything (desktop icons, webpages, bars at top and bottom on the internet, etc..) were bigger. I changed the colors back to normal, but I don't know how to make everything small again. Now, I am not very technilogically sound, (and the scary thing is that I'm the best on computers in my house), but can somebody try to explain to me how to get the settings back to normal size?
Thank you for your cooperation. [/glow]

Basically, someone changed the resolution of your computer. To fix this problem, go to your desktop, right click and select properties on the menu that drops down, select the settings tab and there should be some called resolution and a little place marker on like a line. CLick and drag the little 'place marker' all the way to the right and the numbers below should increase, then press apply and everything should be smaller

Happy I could help, if you want it to look normal, move the thing over a couple more notches and see which notch makes everything appear better

Do you remember what resolution you were using before? You could just change it back to that. The most common ones are 800x600 and 1024x768. I'm using 1024 right now. 800 is just way too big now that I'm used to 1024.

I can't stand anything smaller than 1024 on my monitor. 800 is ok, but a bit too big for me.

I don't think anyone did. It was probably something to do with the computer, unless someone had access to their house while they were gone but I still don't see why anyone would do something like that.

Maybe the video card driver got updated, that changes the resolution to the lowest one

[glow=DarkGreen,2,300]Well, considering that the doors were locked, I'm pretty sure it just happened on its own somehow. Unless someone hacked it somehow, but that wouldn't make any sence, someone hacking to change the size.[/glow]
