Operation Darkness for xbox 360 is the zombie nazi game. There's a review on gamespot.com for those interested. I didn't bother picking up FFTA2 since its more of the same only twice the missions. I am too preoccupied with The World Ends with You post-finishing the game. 50 hours of playtime and counting.

FFTA 2 is probably lame, so I'm gonna avoid it. That 360 game does sound awesome except for the part where I don't have a 360. Also, I keep hearing that DS game you just mentioned is a good game - is it really? I'm gonna have to look at it closer.
All I've been doing is playing Diamond nowadays.

Yeah do yourself a favor and pick up The World Ends With You. It has been fairly popular lately and there are not many used copies on the market because of it. Read all of the reviews you want because everyone likes it and gives the game high marks.

hey, just joined. rock.
anywho. ive heard that FFTA2 was quite good overall (utter crap by comparison to the greats, ofcourse), and with the nippon ichi games doing consistently well, and fire emblem wii doing well enough that it is still sold in stores like wal mart, i certainly think we have a great core group of gamers who love these things. most americans and europeans arent big into rpgs, and those that are are usually into more traditional, but there are certainly a number of us out there.
the way to get these games made, published, and brought to our shores is to make sure the companies and designers know we want them. buy em, play em, comment on em.
now, for the main topic. after ff12, matsuno didnt necisarilly "leave" square, so much as he took time off for health issues. while he is not apparently employed by them, that isnt to say he wouldnt work with them. much of his old team is still there, so i am sure hes got some friends still working with them. we still have hope, even if it is small.

Woooow. Just imagine, if the Versus system for tKoL was implemented into the PS3's, 360's or the Wii's online capability...
It would bring serious multiplayer into TO, on an honestly competitive level. That would be incredible.
And if it was done well, there could even be multiple game-types, like melee only teams, caster only teams, etc... That would be amaaaaaaazing, why doesn't Square do it. ;_;

I agree with the Topic Creator, the series has basically been killed by Square-Enix. With Yasumi Matsuno gone, the only person who knew how the series would pan out is no longer affiliated with the series. What makes it worse is that the Ogre Battle series has been left in the hands of Square-Enix. SQUARE-ENIX. If there is another OB/TO game, it would most likely be meaningless tripe compared to the rest of the series, and would most likely only serve to derail the story. If only, if only Matsuno had stayed on, we might have had a glimmer of hope, but, alas, he left, and all we got was Yiazmat.
Of course, that isn't to say we, the fans, couldn't try to make fan games that could fill in the holes in the series. I personally think that it would have started (EP 1) with the Ogre Battle, and ended with (Ep 8? 9?) a second, final Ogre Battle, which would have ended with the demons being completely wiped out, along with the ogres and other denizens of the netherworld. Everything in between would serve only to flesh out the world, and introduce the characters that would play a major role in the final battle.
