I have always had one clear favorite SNES RPG with around 6 or 7 second place favorites. My favorite RPG for the SNES is Final Fantasy III/VI. It was the second Final Fantasy I bought(second to FFI) played and have always enjoyed the many characters and the character development, the good story, graphics and sound. Finally if enyone cares to know the 7 or so second place favorite SNES RPG's of mine in no perticular order are Fire Emblem 4, Final Fantasy II/IV, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, and Tactics Ogre.

Tactics Ogre? Is that available on SNES in North America or was it just available in Japan? I thought that it was only on PSX.

Usually if your looking for an old school RPG game for like SNES, try your local gamestop. They usually dont put the good ones out on display (Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Earthbound etc.) so just ask the guy at the desk, usually they got them in the back, i've boughten all those SNES games plus other rare ones and they were all convieniently stashed in the back room of Gamestop.

Dejap made a SD3 Translation, as WELL as a ToP translation. At least ONE person mentioned ToP (Go to yahoo.com and search for "dejap") ToP was really, really good, I'd have to say I enjoyed it more than I did Chrono Trigger, and that's saying something.

Tales of Phantasia is a game like no other. It's a pity it never got to US shores during the snes era

Star Ocean games are much like Tales of games with the battles taking place on a 3D plane. The original Tales of Phantasia was developed by members of tri-Ace before they left Namco.

Star Ocean 2 is one of my favorite games, and the only one in the series that has a North American release so far.

It's very good. If you liked Secret of Mana 1 and 2 (which you did...), then you will like this game a lot. It's not exaclty like SoM, but it has that fast paced action RPG feeling where you are owning a boss with 4 people... Wait... that sounded gay.... In other words, it's an action RPG where you have 4 people in a battle which makes things go crazy. I recommend it. Can't wait for Star Ocean 3. Cool. I cant get enough of Action RPGS. I'll definetly have to go and check that out. Thanks for the info
