I recently purchased a new Tactics Ogre cartridge, started a new game and went through the stupid opening sequence/battle (which takes damn near an hour even skipping through the dialogue)
I am 100% positive I saved it because it was on the first slot and the other 2 said NO DATA.
Next time I go to boot it up, the "continue" option isn't even highlighted on the main screen, I can only start a new game?!?!?
Where'd my game go? Is this cartridge sh*t or what?

Was the cartridge actually brand new or a used copy? There have been a number of cases where the flash memory erases itself in old GBA games. This game has been noted to erase save files on a random occurrence.

Used (new to me). I tried starting/saving a new game again with the same result...it acts like it is saved but next time you fire it up there's nothing there is there a fix?

The only fix is to get a new game cartridge. If the flash memory is bad then there is nothing you can do. You would want to exchange it if bought at gamestop/retail outlet for another copy.

F&%*!!! So I traded the junk cartridge for a different one--the new one saved and the save was still there when I re-started it so I thought I was all good...however, as soon as you save onto a different of the 3 slots, it erases the first one!
