They're out now in NA. I can't believe I was playing these games 10 years ago. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is addicting. Same basic premise as all other games except, like the originals, there's 16 gyms. New additions include Safari Zone, Pokethlon and more. I don't want to go into too much detail but I do recommend it if you were a fan of the originals.
On a side note, I am now going to be uploading battles so if anyone is still playing, I'd love to record a battle with a TG member. (standard rules) Let me know =)

Haha standard rules. I got Platinum and have played a good chunk of it. Need to pick it back up on my vacation at the end of the month and play my brother over wifi. I went from Blue to Platinum and was shocked at how updated and complex the game has become. Also what's the deal with the pokewalker. That thing looks interesting.

That's a pretty big jump. I can't imagine how you felt when you started Platinum (besides shocked of course).
Pokewalker is like a pedometer in that it measures the amount of steps you take. You can transfer pokemon from your game to it and walk around with that pokemon. The steps you take are converted into watts which not only raise your pokemon's happiness and levels, but can also be used to search for items or pokemon. (which are then sent back into the game)
The bad part is that the pokewalker battery only lasts about 4 months or so and then you'll need to replace it.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Whoa I haven't played a Pokemon game since Pokemon Silver. I recently bought a DS Lite, guess I should pick this up. I'm guessing it differs from the original game in spades?

I think you'll like it then. It utilizes the same graphics as Platinum. All pokemon follow you. Gyms are customized after their types. There's much more but I don't want to spoil anything.

I recently got Soul Silver and I love the Pokewalker. I've probably used my Pokewalker more than I've played the actual game, mainly cuz I'm at work during the day and don't even have time to play til I get home. It seems pretty good so far though, with the improvements in graphics and everything.

Hahaha, I'm the opposite. I tend to forget about my pokewalker often. I'll use it more this summer...I hope. Anywhos, how about the new Pokemon Black and White?! I feel this comic represents the majority of people I know...including myself: www.awkwardzombie.com/comic1-032910.phpEdit; Battle anyone?

LOL that comic is so true! So many of my facebook friends have been uploading pokemon pictures lately. I'm pretty excited about black and white, I heard they're taking a different approach to the series?

I LOL'd at that comic. Cuz it's totally true for me too. I remember I kept thinking Pokemon games were lame in high school and early college. Til I got hooked on Diamond and spent over 200 hours on it...

That's not that bad....
Diamnod: 697+ hours Platinum: 680+ hours HeartGold: 60+ hours
To be fair though, most of the time on there is all RNG abuse so don't judge me ><; And now I can't wait for more news on Black/White. They better release some creative pokemon - Zoroark wasn't bad
