I recently read the "Top 5 games that make you look cool for owning" on gamespot and they were saying how one lady owns the complete dragon warrior series yet has only played one of the games. Same was said for Suikoden II and a few other notable classics. Most of the people said the cool games were the unique treasures that missed mass market appeal like Guitar Heros, Bionic Commando, Tactics Ogre, etc.
Well I was reviewing my collection and realized I still had the UNOPENED Disgaea Hour of Darkness game and Unopened Dragon Warrior VII game. I found out the Disgaea game is going for $80-115 NEW and $50-60 used on ebay. Dragon Warrior is going for 25-30 used and 60-70 New. I am now going to sell Dragon Warrior and possibly hold out on playing Disgaea.
Do yall horde games that will never get played or buy games just to have?

I haven't ever bought a game that I've never played. I haven't beaten most of the games I have, but I still play them, if only for a few hours even.

Curse you mad devils, how do you buy a game and not play it the moment you get home?

Heh, I've got a couple I've never played...they're the types of games that you KNOW will consume huge amounts of your time and so are reluctant to begin! I own Wizardry: Tales of the Forsaken lands as well as Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance that have never seen the inside of the PS2

actually someone gave me that mario football for gamecube on christmas and i haven't opened it because every time i turn on my gamecube with friends we only want to play SSBM >_<
other than that i don't think i buy enough games to have some just laying around unplayed
although there are a bunch of games that i played and never quite "beat" or played a lot (donky kong country 3 comes to mind heh)

I just finished suikoden V which took 72 hours to beat. Also I have been playing it since mid-may. When you own games like that and new ones come out it can be hard to sit and finish it. Hence my reason for selling a 100+ hour game like Dragon Warrior 7. Sektor is another example of when RPGs and real life time don't work well. One of the guys at school spends 25-30 hours a weekend marathoning video games or anime. I could never give up my social life to do that but I know of others that do.

Holy crap I'm notorious for buying games and not playing them. Of course I usually have intention to do so, but others I do buy because they're rare and/or cool. Hell I have a good percentage of Atlus and NIS' RPGs yet I've not found time to play them.
Damn this thread is old.

My current unopened games: Disgaea 1 and 2 (should have sold one before the reprint had them both too long) Luminous Arc (recently acquired) Final Fantasy XII (had since last x-mas)
Games I own that have never been put in the console: Casltevania Symphonia of the Night (two copies to boot...need to sell one off) Final Fantasy IX (probably never will got it for $10 once)

I always play the games I buy right away - finishing them is another matter >_> And while we're talkin about this, how about listing your DS games now Locke? And your FCs for the WiFi ones!

Haha, lately I've been buying a crapload of games and starting them all, but never finishing them. ie. Rune Factory, Luminous Arc, Ouendan 1 & 2, to name a few. Right now, I'm too addicted to Pokemon Diamond and Fire Red. <.<

Yeah, I've gotten.. SO addicted. Again. I blame my friend though. I still have to beat the Elite Four and.. yeah. I may or may not change my current team. And I really want that National Dex, dammit..
