hmm... there are so many it's hard to list em all so here are my top 5
starcraft - the one that started it all
warcraft 3 - excellent real time strategy game
soldier of fortune 2: double helix (gold edition) - one of the best fps i've played so far, get the gold edition for extra weapons and stuff, including a silenced mp5!
c&c: red alert 2 - fun and challenging real time strategy
close combat 3: the eastern front - really really good strategy game

Ahh starcraft... Those were the days, huh creed? We couldn't work together as a team at all, right before we win against another player or computer we always backstabbed each other lol. I was the victor each time of course

remember that time we tricked this idiot into thinking we're playing a 3 player free for all, and then ended up backstabbing him? that was great ;D
but then you and iain did betray me in that 3 vs 1 compstomp, just because i attacked the comp before you wanted me to.

Me and some online friends in starcraft used to make like 7v1 comp stomps and then backstab everyone who joined.. hehe... stupid people trying to kill comps for wins, showed them

Starcraft is close but HOMMIII is still the best... Blizz and 3do used to have a big competition going until heroes IV came out lol. Now Blizzard is basically on it's own and they still dominate ^_^.

I think that Blizzard and Westwood have a great rivalry if anything. I remember reading an interview that when comparing their games to other companies, Blizzard never mentions Westwood and Westwood never mentions Blizzard

Gothic? well, its a third person "hack and slash" sorta game, everything is 3D and the only downside to it is the numerous bugs throughout the game (some helpful, and others game freezing), but fun cause you can kill just about everyone in the game (like fallout!! =) ). Site is here www.gothic.de/ There is a Gothic 2, but i cant find it anywhere (best buy has 1, but not 2... odd. Also, a few forgotten, but good games to add to the list =P HoMM:3 Dungeon Siege (anyone seen the Expansion for this??) Age of Wonders Age of Mythology .... ahhh, way too many to name =P

Heathen!! (or however you spell that word) !! Dungeon Siege ROCKS! ... atleast it beats Neverwinter Nights =P. Anyways, Dungeon Siege (wow... never heard of it huh? so... what size rock do you live under? nah, im just kidding ;D) is kinda like the Baldurs gate games, but 3D, and not based on books. you have an entire continent to pretty much explore (expansion adds a new one from what i hear). chooseable races are basic, Human, dwarf, i think elf was in there to.... but in Multiplayer you could be a skelly if ya wanted (mwahahaha, ahem). camera is adjustable for every situation, but will try to keep your charecter visible at all times. there is 0 loading from area to area, and that doesnt really effect the game speed that iv seen. Your Charecter is basicly a farmer at the start, and which weapons you use determines your skill (I.E. - use a bow alot, you get better at the Bow and its skill goes up, so, get lvl 5 in archery and you are a ranger (or something) , but if you want, you can put the bow away and use melee, Combat magic, or Nature magics instead, each time you use the skill you pretty much get a little better at it. Stats raise like the skills, use melee and you get good str growth, medium agi growth, and little int growth, vise versa for using magic, int goes up fast. for the bow i think both int and str go up a little slower, but not the slowest, while ofcourse, agi goes up pretty fast. you have 4 action slots, melee, range, and 2 magic slots, you can switch between them easily in mid combat if needed. to top that, you actually get 2 continents to explore, single player map (can play Multiplayer on it if you want) and the Multiplayer only map (home of the all powerful... CHICKENGUN!!! **please download new skin before flaming it =P** ... ahem), both are interesting, but like many games, can get tedious, but fun as heck in the beginning! =) well, im not much to listen to reviews, way too many times did they steer me wrong (a review i once read said that HoMM:3 was the largest waste of money since (how did they put it?) "The Baldurs gate tradgety" (*appearently BG didnt get high marks from them either... those bastages! .. sorry). the way i see it is, the DS expansion is gunna be just like what the Diablo 2 expansion is, just more o what we LOVE to do
