Here's a cheap sig tutorial, since many of you seem completely lost. This is a very easy style of sig making, and is a great first start for photoshop n00bs.
Trick for cheap and easy signatures: (note, this is literally CHEAP, it mostly involves combining pictures, rather than creating new ones...it's great to learn on but later on try to grow away from it).
The poor man's sig craftmanship:
Go to photoshop, select to make a new image, make the pixels around 400 width, 100 height (around those dimensions). Now, go on google and perform an image search for whatever pic you're looking for.
If the image has a background already:
Make sure the pic is bigger than your canvas, but not too big so you can't show the part of the pic you want. Copy and paste the picture into your canvas, and move it (with the move tool)so it shows just the part that you want your sig to have, and voila the background is done. Now, go to www.dafont.com , pick out a font for whatever you think fits well with the picture, save the font to your computer, then find it in your hardrive. Right click the .zip file of the text and click "extract to", then from that window, tell it to extract to wherever your fonts are (most likely C:\windows\Fonts). Now, back in photoshop, click the type tool and select the font you just installed. move the type box around so it's set to type wherever you want it. Change the text size to however you want it, and type whatever you want (most likely your name...this IS a sig, after all). You may want to add some quick and easy effects to your text by going to "Layers" then "layer styles" and playing around with the functions there. Once everything is set uo to how you want it to look, it's time to add your border. Note that adding a border is entirely optional, but it is suggested. Go to "Layers" and then go to "flatten image" then press Ctrl + A and then Ctrl + C this should copy the image seen in the canvas, but not the excess background that isn't seen on the canvas. Now go to "File" then "new" and just press "OK" ( the sizes will already be set to what you want). In this new canvas press ctrl + V and it should paste your previous sig image into the new canvas. now go to "image" then "canvas size" and make sure the hight and width are both in pixels. Now just at 2 pixels to both height and width. Now, change your foreground color to whatever you want your border to be, then go to "edit" then "stroke". Make sure the stroke is set for a 2 Px (pixel). If you want a white border (most likely), just go down to "white" when choosing the color. If you wanted the color you chose earlier as your foreground color, just click on "foreground color", And voila, save as a .gif or .jpg, upload it to the internet, and put it in your sig. You have just completed the Poor Man's Signature.
I will post what to do if the pic(s) you wanted did NOT have a background later, but right now I'm too bored to type any more . I hope my tutorial made some sense, but since it probably didn't, direct your questions to me.
