I think Golden Sun ruled. the character thing wasn't that bad, and I rather liked the battle system. some one buying Golden Sun could do way worse.

I played the game, and absolutely LOVED it!!!! I've played a LOT of RPGs, and this is probably the best! The storyline is great, the character development and Djinn system is new and innovative, and you really get to love the characters -- plus, the graphics are just stunning! All in all, one of the best games I've ever played, and, IMO, one of the best games ever!

I found the characters to be dull... really dull... and I didn't think the Djinni system was that innovative either. The only thing I liked about this game was the graphics.

Well, this seems to be a pretty even debate as to whether Golden Sun sucks or rules. I'm gonna have to go with RULES!!! There are very few times I can sit down and play an RPG, and find myself enthralled from beggining to end. GS was one of those rare occasions. The character development was fine, and the Djinn system wasn't ground breaking, but it was good. I personally can't wait for GS2.

I liked the class and weapon system, and that will probably be the next game I will get. (GS:TLA)

There's nothing special about golden sun. Characters without personalities, a storyline that doesn't develop, lack of challenge, and the constant rambling of n64 fanboys add up to create a crappy game. It's a step backward in RPG progress. The graphics were really nice though.

was any one stupid like me and level up to lev 54? or am i in a class of my own where no one will battle me for eternity? Uhhh I know plenty of people with level 99 characters...You level up pretty quckly in GS. YAY THIS IS ONLY THE 7 THOUSAND GOLDEN SUN THREAD ON TO! I played the game, and absolutely LOVED it!!!! I've played a LOT of RPGs, and this is probably the best! The storyline is great, the character development and Djinn system is new and innovative, and you really get to love the characters -- plus, the graphics are just stunning! All in all, one of the best games I've ever played, and, IMO, one of the best games ever! ...Son, you're gonna have to list all the RPGs you've played before I believe that. Oh yeah the character developement is superb...that's why they never show any emotion right? That's why all the characters are merely overdone, second-class RPG stereotypes right? Yeah I really likehow Isaac and Garet are wearing pretty much the same thing. Another feature is how Isaac and Ivan look the same! Oh and a long haired girl with water element, who uses staffs, and is the best spell caster in the party? Well THAT'S something new, I have never, ever, seen that before EVER!! You guy's are right, the character developement is terrific! Oh and the Djinn system is TOTALLY inovative...too bad it's a RIP OFF of the Esper system from FF6. I like the depth of this game...how the main character pretty much has NO REASON to "save the world" and how it gives the player absolutely no incentive to beat the game? Yeah I liked the battle system too...especially how when you tell them to attack an enemy..but another party member kills it first...they defend...WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!? If you are being surrounded by monsters, are you going to defend because someone killed the monster you were targeted, no logic points to kill the next one. Yeah you guys are right this game is EXCELLENT. I can think of no reason to like this besides 1. You have never played an RPG before so the concept is just remarkable to you 2. The graphics (which are important because graphics OBVIOUSLY determine ohow fun the game is) Go play a REAL RPG.
