I personally like these topics. I never really liked Bush, I don't care that he kept the nation together after 9/11. I just don't like his views on the environment. Did you here about him easing up on the pollution controls for factories? He's destroying the planet. I happen to want Clinton back. He was still a very good president. About Iraq, I don't really have a real opinion about it. A lawn chair would have had the same rallying effect as Bush so there is no reason at all to like him.

remember this...Saddam hurt his own people once upon a time to achieve his 'needs'....to better 'improve' his nation...
in other words...attacking his citizens, Iraqi civilians...does that really hurt him at all? i think he only has selfish intentions and probably won't care much about the people, as much as the economy of Iraq going down
i agree Sokar...Bush really knows how to say the wrong things at the wrong time

You have to realize that people like Saddam and Bush live in a fantasy world and have no connection to reality whatsoever. Do you think that guys like that actually give a shit about you and me? Hell no. Do you even understand how much insanity is involved when bastards like this condemn thousands of people to death? And for what? What's it gonna solve? Not a goddamn thing! Why does everyone want to kill each other all the time? There will never be an end to this insanity. None of these countries is on the side of God. Not us, not Iraq, not Israel, nobody! It's all just a bunch of insane lunatic bullies who want everyone else to think like they do. F**k I hate the human race sometimes. We are capable of such wonderful things, but it always seems insignificant in the face of the stupidity which usually comes to the forefront. WTF!?!?!?!?!

What people need to understand is that Osama Bin Laden was disliked by many in his country, but Saddam is not. They have been brought up since birth to respect his style of reign, and it is definitely a reign, and see no need to rebel against him. They want a strong dictator, and Saddam is that man.

I disagree...Saddam has shed so much blood, his vanity so terrible, that I don't think he has much popularity anymore. He wants cheesy songs of praise on the radio played for him. He has use chemical agents against his own people in the late 1980s, in some small town, using things such as Sarin. He has killed many people just to gain power into his own hands. He is a demagogue - a person that promises things (he built roads, public housing, and hospitals, and promised more social-welfare services for Iraq) only for his self-interest. His cruelty has spread hatred to gain him many enemies, even in the Arab world. The only reason that they won't rebel against him is because their loyalty is created out of fear and self-interest and the desire to live...and if an alternative to Saddam's dictatoral ways, then they'll do it. They'll take the alternative.

another thing to keep in mind is that
prior to the United States unification, Europe was the central power of the world...and now that they've dropped beneath the north american continent in terms of power and economy...could it be their jelousy that disagrees with America's request for support in attacking Iraq?

I doubt that. I dont think they can hold a grudge for over 200 years.

Even if they could, they wouldn't dare disagree with us without some pretty hefty reasons (I'm thinking a three letter word, that is probably the most important rescource in the world...) And Gustave, sorry, Iraqis hate Sadam as much as we do, but they sure as hell don't want us coming, conquering their country, and figuring it out for them...
