I must fairly apply the way I judge Nixon and Andrew Johnson to Clinton regarding scandals. He also didn't have great deal of domestic achievments with the exceptions of a balanced budget, welfare reform, and a good economy(which kind of caused the balanced budget). Without the scandals he would rate in the high teens in my ratings.

How do u think gore would've handled everything if he was president? I say it would've been the boringest 4 year term EVER.

It would be a boring 4-years, but it would have been a stable four years. However, I agreed with him more on issues than Bush, but he may not have initially handled 9/11 so well, but I think he would have better around this stage because right now we are adrift. Also, I can't forgive Bush for imposing steel tariffs that have cost steel consuming industries 70,000 jobs to save 6 Republican congressmen in steel producing districts.

Doesn't matter who's president--I will always find something to hate about them. This is why I don't bother to vote.

So am I, but when I can I will vote in every election I can.
You see the problem is that if that attitude is prevelant among Americans then we will get bad presidents because we will eventually only have 30 or 40% of people voting and that isn't enough to keep the politicians in line. What we need is an informed voting public that has aorund 70% turnout. If we had 70% turnout we could actually have viable third parties when all of the currently disenchanted people vote. People like you create your own dilema and I don't understand it.

Hear hear, now there is a man with some sense.
I live in Australia, so I don't know crud about American politics. Except for the stuff that affects us, like Bush's subsidies to American farmers, and the steel tariffs. Neither decision has been beneficial.
If I DID live in America, I would have voted for Gore. And yes, I think that choosing who is going to lead your country is a very important thing.

The steel tariffs and farm subsidies hurt us here too. Farm subsidies raise prices artificially which hurts consumer purchasing power and steel tariffs help the steel industry, but they wreck the steel consuming industries such as autos and other such things. Tariffs and subsidies are simply bad policy.
