if you didn't know already from the news...the Bush administration has pushed for this war on Terrorism for quite some time now...in a NATO meeting sometime last week, Bush again pushed forward his plan to limit the reigning days of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein...France is particularly unrelenting about this subject, and the President of France specifically addressed that it was not at all necessary to fight Iraq to remove Saddam Hussein from power, neither is it necessary to remove their nuclear supply. aside from France, China also phoned the Bush Administration about this subject, the Chinese president is especially concerned about keeping peace within the Union and around the World. evidence was also brought up that Saddam allowed a scientist to be interviewed by American officials without the accompany of any Iraqi officials...and it seems Saddam Hussein was ready to negotiate a deal. Bush dismissed all this as a "last minute game of deception"...and Bush has decided that the game is over for Iraq...
and i'm sure all of you know about the National Security level...it is now raised to Orange, meaning a very high mode of alert regarding terrorist activity...once it has passed the yellow mark, terrorist activities will include Biochemical Weaponry, Radiological Weaponry and Nuclear Weaponry. these are the last resorts of the terrorists...as response to America's Declaration of War upon Iraq, dated Feburary 15th...they have communicated that this time it will not be a small scale attack as we had in September 11th in 2001...this time it will be a full scale activity...they will "make history"...as they declared...
what is your view about this?
Lord Blight and i had a brief discussion regarding this issue via AIM...i have told him that this is one of the reasons i dislike it here in the United States...and he asked...as any decent American would ask...
"Why"
my answer
"i don't like nations that force its power upon others, neither do i like nations that pretends to defend against communism and monarchy, but hypocritically chooses to be dictatorial in its demands from other nations, such as the Ultimatum Bush has administrated to the Iraqi government...
perhaps when he steps down from the throne and leaves the shambles that we call America...i will start appreciating the "fresh air" here in California

I don't support this war. To put it in short:
Al Qaeda kills innocent Americans = terrorism America kills innocent Iraqis= "war on terrorism"
hmmm....
Rain, I agree with you 100% I plan to move out of the U.S. as soon as possible. No offense to those who love this country, this is just my viewpoint.

I disagree with the Hitler argument entirely. Saddam doesn't have the strength to invade anyone of his neighbors except for Kuwait and he knows that the response would be war if he did. Also, he is not crazy or he would have used his chemical and biological weapons already.
One thing that really disturbs me is that our army seems to think that the whole Iraqi army will simply throw up its hands and join us. This is a stupid assumption to make. The military is supposed to plan for the worst and pray for the best and not the other way around. If Saddam's army(even 20% of it) makes a stand in Baghdad we will sustain enormous casualties. Our smart weapons that were so effective in the open desert won't do a damn bit of good in a city unless we are willing to inflict substantial civillian casualties. Bear in mind that Baghdad is a city of 8 million people and many of them are genuinely loyal to Saddam because he protects them from the Kurds and the Shiites(by killing those two groups) who otherwise would kill them. Anyone who has studied military history knows that city fighting is a real bitch and our tanks and armored personel carriers are a drag and not a help. Facing up to 100,000 hostile defenders in Baghdad is something that our army will have a hard time dealing with if we are not willing to take gigantic numbers of casualities into the tens of thousands.
Also, attacking Saddam will get him to use the very weapons we are trying to avoid him using. He will do one or all of three things: 1. Fire them at our troops 2. Fire them at Israel 3. Give them(if he already hasn't) to terrorists
I am no fan of Saddam(In fact I would love to see him dead just like everyone else), but we face other problems that are more pressing. As long as the inspectors are in there he won't do anything and we can focus more on oher things.

I agree with both side to the argument, to an extent. All this would have possibly been prevented years ago if Bush's dad had let General Swartzgoff (sp?) go into Bahgdad during the Gulf War and occupy the city and take Saddam into custody. But the past is the past.
I agree with Crono that Saddam has to go. But to liken him to Hilter is somewhat naive. Saddam doesn't have the power necessary to commit troops to other areas, while having to protect his own assests. Also, he doesn't pose as big of a threat to world security as the US government would have us believe.
You would think the the "threat" of force would keep Iraq in line. I don't think it's necessary to invade Iraq. If Bush chooses to do this, it could be his undoing. America would win, but at the expense of more troops than we would like, and we would have to face the anger of nations worldwide.

Something interesting in the Bin Laden tape yesterday was where he called Saddam "an infidle" and a "communist". This would certainly imply that he does not have a constructive relationship with Saddam despite the way the Bush Administration is trying to spin this. I think these two bastards are completley seperate even though Bin Laden called for Iraqis to fight the U.S. Speaking of terrorism, Hamas has said that it will lauch hundreds of terrorist attacks against the U.S. and allies if we go to war with Iraq. If anyone here doesn't know what Hamas does it is very easy to describe: suicide bombings. They have supporters in this country in the Muslim community that will do those sorts of attacks here or in tourist or diplomatic locations overseas. I'm telling you this gets worse by the day.

Yeah, I heard about those tapes, they came out recently, right? I find it interesting that it's now proven that Iraq and Al Qaeda aren't as linked as people think. A lot of blockheads think all Muslims are in league with each other, and finally something they can understand has come out proving them wrong.
