Hey Guys,
I figured that before I go back to college, I'll buy myself a Sega Genesis and some classic, old school games. Here's what's on my list so far:
Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, 3 Sonic & Knuckles Gunstar Heroes Mega Bomberman Streets of Rage 2, 3 Mega Turrican Phantasy Star 4 NBA Jam Ecco the Dolphin
That's my list so far. Any recommendations?

I never played Genesis much, but those are the only game I can think of to take other than Golden Axe, which I know alot of people don't like.

*Seconds Gunstar Heroes and General Chaos*
How about a Shinobi or Wonderboy game?

Shinobi's the original arcade sidescrolling ninja. Pretty oldskool. IMO I think Shinobi 3 is the best. That and there's Strider Hiryu. They're the same kinda arcadey ninja game. Wonderboy is another arcade type game (Sega's good at that ;D), but it's a sidescrolling RPG/hack n slash type. It's alright. And yeh, Gunstar is pretty whack, specially the weapon setup

And yeh, Gunstar is pretty whack, specially the weapon setup Laser + Force, all the way! ;D Although it's the best, the Double Chaser is so cheap it's lame.

Nah, free-shot Lightning-Chaser all the way. ;D You just do the running while the gun does all the work. That and the Lightsaber combo

Shining Force & Shining Force II are MUST BUYS if you own a sega. Its kinda like TO mixed with FF (i dont mean in an FFTA way). Both you and your enemies have turns and when you attack an enemy, it goes into a battle screen of your char attacking the enemy. Its a really good series. You should definetly check it out if you can find copies. They're really rare nowadays. If you want more info about the games ask the Shining Force guru, Zynx. I only own the 2nd.

I'll look into Shining Force; although I am not an RPG fan, so if the game is slow-paced, I'll hate it.

I highly suggest SF 1+2 as well.
